What is Secure Bike Parking?

Secure bike parking provides superior protection for your bicycle over the conventional bike rack. Over 59 secure bike parking spots are located within enclosed, limited-access facilities. Secure bike parking members are granted a pass to enter the facility. Bikes are stored vertically onto the storage system, which with one U-Lock can secure both tires and the frame of the bike. As these facilities are monitored, the probably of damage or theft to the parked bikes is greatly reduced. Secure bike parking provides an excellent option to store your bike for the day as you commute to and from work. Funding for secure bike parking has been provided by Metrolinx as part of its BikeLinx program.

Purchase a Pass

Passes are available for a small fee of $50.00 per year and guarantee you a parking spot at one of the parking facilites for the year.

Locations

Smart Commute Hamilton, along with funding by Metrolinx, has secure bike parking in variety of locations.  Three are open to the general public.  These include: 1) York Blvd Parkade facility, 2) Convention Centre Parkade facility and 3) City Hall parking lot facility.  Others are located throughout the city but are available only to employees of the various sites they are located within.
